Kobe Bryant

...Kobe Bryant is my favorite player in the NBA, and also my favorite athlete in all of sports. His career is getting close to being done, but he still continues to play at a superstar level. Kobe has played over forty five thousand minutes in his career, so it’s amazing how can continue to play at such a high level with all those miles on his body. He suffered his first major injury of his career a few weeks ago against the Golden State Warriors. He tore his Achilles tendon, and had surgery to repair it the next day. That injury forced Kobe to miss this seasons playoffs. He is expected to return in the next six to nine months. I don’t remember why or how I started to like Kobe Bryant, I just know I have been a fan of his ever since I can remember. Kobe Bryant was drafted sixteenth overall in 1996 by the Charlotte Hornets, and was then traded to the Los Angels Lakers on draft day. He won the slam dunk contest as a rookie. Just four years into his career. Kobe and Shaquille O’Neal teamed up to win three straight NBA championships. After losing in the NBA Finals in 2004, the Lakers traded Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe became the cornerstone for the Lakers. In 2006, Bryant scored a career-high 81 points against the Toronto Raptors, the second most points scored in a single game in NBA history. In 2008, Kobe won the NBA most valuable player award. After losing in the 2008 NBA Finals, Kobe led the Lakers to two consecutive championships in 2009 and 2010, earning the NBA Finals MVP......

Kobe vs. Lebron

...Kobe vs. Lebron Two of the most polarizing figures in the NBA today are Kobe Bryant and Lebron James. Kobe Bryant and Lebron James come on the top of the list just because of their remarkable performances and their achievements throughout their careers. They both have started their sports career from the school age and then they excelled in their respective sports of basketball. Kobe Bryant plays as a shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers and Lebron James plays for the Miami Heat. Lebron James also referred as a “King James” just because of his moves and his utmost versatility in basketball, while Kobe is referred to as the “Black Mamba”. Although they may seem to be alike the two are very different in their own respects. For instance, both players have the ability to score the ball. Kobe is a natural born scorer; many call him one of the greatest offensive players to ever play the game. Kobe averages nearly 26 points per game over his 17 year pro career; anywhere on the court Kobe is a threat because of his basketball fundamentals and ability to score from anywhere on the court. Lebron on the other hand, is also a good scorer but is not considered to be on the level of Kobe Bryant. Lebron averaging nearly 25 points per game through his career which is not bad, but he is challenged to work extremely hard for his points. However, Lebron in terms of physicality is way above Bryant. Weighing in at 260 pounds of muscle and is listed at the height of 6’9......

Lebron vs. Jordan

...Michael Jordan is considered to be the most iconic person in sports history. Throughout his professional career Jordan built the blueprint to which all elite sports figures are critiqued. In 2002, a young man named Lebron James made headlines as he received the hype of being the next Michael Jordan. After Lebron's first seven seasons in the NBA, the similarities to Michael Jordan are striking, but a viable case could be made that the two basketball superstars are completely different as well. One way in which the two are similar is exposed through statistical analysis. In Lebron James' first seven seasons in the NBA he has accumulated a 27.8 point per game average along with seven rebounds per game, and seven assists per game. When evaluating Michael Jordan's first seven seasons as a pro, we find that he averaged 31.1 points per game along with 6.2 rebounds and 6.1 assists. Overlooking minor discrepancies these numbers are strikingly similar, but we are forgetting the most important statistic in professional sports. The number of championships acquired. In Michael Jordan's first seven years he led his team to one championship in comparison to Lebron James' zero . Though the difference is small, it means everything in the world of professional sports. Another blatant difference between the two icons is the level of media savvy that they each possess. Stemming from his college days, Michael Jordan always had the media eating out of his palm. While many celebrities point......

Kobe Bryant, the son of former NBA player Joe "Jellybean" Bryant, jumped directly from high school to the pros in 1996 and enjoyed an impressive rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He also won the Nestle Crunch slam-dunk contest, and was the leading scorer in the Rookie Game during the NBA all-stars Weekend. Kobe Bryant could very well become one of the best basketball players to ever step on a basketball court.   Kobe's parents named him after a type of steak (Kobe) seen on a restaurant menu prior to his birth. This type of steak is very popular in Japan. Bryant is also fluent in Italian. Even though Bryant plays in the NBA, he is still a kid at heart and makes time for playing video games. He has two older sisters, Sharia and Shaya. Bryant was the all-time leading scorer in Southeastern Pennsylvania history with 2,883 points, breaking the marks of NBA legend and Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain (2,359 points) and former St. Joseph's player Carlin Warley (2,441 points). Bryant led his high school team to a 77-13 record in last three seasons and was a four-year starter.   His father, Joe, played eight NBA seasons for the Philadelphia 76ers, San Diego Clippers and Houston Rockets, and is a former assistant coach at La Salle. Lebron vs Jordan

...Lebron vs. Jordan As long as there is sports talk radio and avoidable TV programs like “Sports Nation,” there will be a debate on who is the greatest basketball player who ever lived. LeBron James now has two NBA titles over the first 10 years of his career, with four NBA Finals appearances over that span. Jordan won three championships in as many Finals appearances over that same span. A decade is a nice point to look back and compare to give the audience a nice break from the season previews and preseason hype. Right off the bat, there’s some really bad news for people looking for a definitive answer on which player is better. It’s really, really, really close. Lebron started his career right out of high school, so there was an inherent learning curve right out of the gate. The Cleveland Cavaliers missed the playoffs in James’ first two pro seasons. He also didn’t have much talent around him at the time. The Cavs went 35-47 in his rookie season with Carlos Boozer and Ricky Davis playing major roles along with Drew Gooden and Jeff McInnis. James’ 2004-2005 seasons, Cleveland managed to go 42-40. James finally reached the playoffs in his third season after the team added a new coach in Mike Brown and complementary players Larry Hughes, Flip Murray and Donyell Marshall. Jordan entered the NBA after his junior season at North Carolina. The Bulls made the playoffs in his rookie season at age 21 despite a 38-44 record and Orlando Woolridge and Quintin Dailey being the team’s......

Sometimes she made the choice of dating, like when she dated Eddie Jackson. Eddie was constantly running from the law and when LeBron was 6 in 1990 he was finally sent to jail for cocaine. But even then LeBron was getting used to a man around the home, along with Gloria. So her brothers Terry and Curt were also around quite often. ...other person's life? Maybe or not, but my life was changed by a basketballer, LeBron James. He is like Michael Jordan for many people who love him. He is one of the best basketball player we've ever seen. However, almost nobody likes him for an unknown reason. He played 8 years for Cleveland Cavaliers. He was playing so beautifully in his young ages that he compared with Michael Jordan. Whenever team loses match, everyone blame LeBron James for missing last second clutch shots. He was not ready to taking over the whole team's responsibilities, and his team's members was not prepared enough, too. When the team lost against Boston Celtics in 03-11-2010, criticism over LeBron James was at peak. In the offseason, LeBron James decided to take his talents to South Beach, and joined to Miami Heat. Haters of LeBron came to a climax, but LeBron did not take the notice of them. Miami Heat and LeBron was so adapted each other that they did not lose any game until the Playoffs. They rose to the top, NBA Finals in 2011. Their rival was Dallas Mavericks that did not lost any game also. NBA Finals conqueror was Dallas Mavericks. I got really angry at that situtation. Haters played a jape on Miami Heat, especially LeBron James. But LeBron didn't give up. He started training during the off season with Kevin Durant. He won again fourth Most Valuable Player(MVP) Award in the last five years, and this showed that LeBron James was ready enough to taking over the team's responsibilities. His......
